pto tote a load?

Unless the clutch disc's are totally shot, probably just needs adjusting. Should be 3 castle nuts under the clutch cover, used to adjust it up. It's been years since I watched my buddy adjust his, but guessing one notch at a time on the castle nuts, until you get it in proper adjustment. Clutch handle should have a nice crisp "snap" to it, once engaged.

I found the problem--the shifter is not moving gears to the proper position--goes to neutral. I can move shift rod around and get it in gear and it works properly. I am not sure what is worn--loose--inside the transmission.

Thanks

keep us posted. i'm miles away from my jd parts manuals or i'd post an exploded diagram.

if it was a ford, i'd say the shifter nub had slipped out ( worn )
