6175 Agco White

I have 6175 Agco White and my upper fuel tank sensor inside the tank is shot. They tell me at the dealer the little float arm in the tank is worth over $1000.00
Anybody have any ideas on how to repair float sensor at a reasonable price. Thanks

I used the following part from Princess Auto on an old tractor I had.
For $25 it is worth trying..
Fuel Level Sending Unit | Princess Auto
You might have to buy a gauge to go with it but it will all be quite cheap.
Perhaps you can cannibalize some parts from the sender to repair yours.
There is just a coil of resistor wire with a finger that rubs on it.
The finger is moved by the float rising and falling as the fuel level changes.
Before actually installing the princess auto part connect it outside the tank.
Ground the sender unit and connect the wire from the fuel gauge to the new sender unit wire
