I have a Ford 6600 which is graymarket so it is the same as a 5000 with a bigger motor. I am in the process of removing the hydraulic pump and am having difficulties. It is unbolted and it will come out about an inch and that is it. I read that you need to disconnect the PTO supply line. Where is it how do I get to it. Is there something I am missing? I would appreciate any help.

I spoke with Glen Sweeden at Sweeden Ford. He told me that I needed to remove the round cover on the other side just under the PTO lever. From there you can unscrew the PTO supply line. After that, the pump comes out fairly easily with the suction filter attached.

Must be another of those great ideas. Sorry for not responding, but I typically don't get to work on Fords. But that is a great bit of knowledge thanks for posting back.

Hopefully his will help someone else avoid the frustration. I have the Ford 6600 shop manual, Ford 5000 shop manual and the IT manual. The amount of information missing is astounding!
