I dropped a 3" by 3/8" metal pin accidentally into the transmission of my 1-year old John Deere X534 while checking the level.
Now I'm faced with dropping the pan to retrieve the piece. How hard is this to do? I obviously have to drain the oil from both front and back, and most likely replace the gasket and torque the bolts that hold on the pan. Can I just remove the bolts holding the pan up, drop it 3 inches and remove the dropped pin from the sump?
Any advice on this forum? Should I just take it to my dealer?
