John Deere 4310
I have a JD 4310 compact utility tractor. When mowing with the belly mower, the PTO disengages. I can usually get about 30-45 minutes out of it, then it seems to warm up and the PTO shuts off. If I wait for 10 minutes, I might get 5 more minutes of mowing. Then the PTO stops turning on altogether. The tractor motor works fine- no overheating or lights. My guess is some sort of electronic component is heating up and turning off the electronic PTO. Thoughts?
Thanks Tim

Welcome to TBN,
The mid (and rear) PTO is activated by a solenoid valve (#42 and 53 below), you can can check the connections to it, and also the resistance of the coil. Might be time to get a tech manual for your machine if your going to do your own wrenching, at $70ish they are worth their weight in gold.

Thanks. I saw the three solenoids sitting side by side on the underside of the right fender/housing area, and wondered if one of them may be the culprit. I will try putting a test light on each one while the PTO is operating (no mower), and then again when it stops. Maybe I can isolate the bad one that way.
Thanks again.
