john derre x 320
I have john deere X320, It starts fine and runs until I use about 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon of fuel then it starts to sputter and die. When I fill it up , it runs fine until I get to the same point. Its a Kawasaki engine and I changed the fuel pump. Any help would be appreciated

I have seen some mowers with Kawasaki engines which have a vent line for the fuel tank with a gas filter on the end of the line .
The other end of the gas filter is just open to the atmosphere to let air into the fuel tank to replace the gas being taken out.
There will be a gas filter installed in the line to the carb in the usual manner as well.
Some flies like to build nests with mud in small openings and perhaps the open end of the vent line filter is plugged.
It can get so bad that the fuel tank will start to collapse from the suction of the fuel pump.
If air cannot get into the tank, then the engine will starve for fuel.
Loosening the fuel cap is a quick check but be careful you dont slop gas on hot engine parts.
