I am the 2nd owner of this tractor for the past 20 years and have been able to do my own repairs(starter, water pump, fuel system etc.) Now this steering system is leaking and I assume it is aftermarket and I don't have a clue how to identify it. The only plate on the back side says F1700 and a serial number of 1664F. The nearest dealer is 60 miles away and they can't seem to figure it out. Any ideas?? Can I replace it back to original if I find the part? Fall is the busiest time for this tractor and now it is sidelined.

If it is just leaking and it is just seals, a good hydraulic shop should be able to reseal cheaper than replacing. I am thinking that it might have been a Tink steering kit, but no matter, they are out of business.
You could try: Jackson Power Steering | Archive | Products, for a kit, but it is not a power assist.
