Help: X485 JD will not run with PTO switch engaged

Tractor will not run when I engage the PTO switch. Checked all the switches in the safety circuit, OK.. Thinking it was the PTO switch I replaced it, but no change. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect the electrical system (ie pto switch) is not receiving a positive signal from the operator presence switch in the seat.
This would apply as long as you don't think something is seized up in the mower and this is causing the engine to stall.
You could disconnect the wire to the electric clutch which is what the pto switch engages and if the engine still stops then you know it is an electrical issue as first suggested.

JD has installed several interlocks on the PTO/RIO system on these tractors. In looking through the diagnostic portion of the service manual it talks about the ignition interlock, seat interlock, brake switch, PTO switch, etc. You may have to spend the $$ on the service manual (TM2023 for the X485) for help in tracing all of the interlocks.

Thank you all for your help.
I solved problem... Had to replace both seat and brake safety circuit switches.
