I'm finishing the rebuild of my Dad's 69 Ford 5200 tractor. It's been a long process but it's nearing completion. I purchased a new wiring harness to simplify the process, however I'm having trouble negotiating the neutral safety switch. This tractor never had one (or wasn't hooked up) so I'm curious to how I could bypass it. I've tried several ways but I still am not getting any power to the starter solenoid. I know the OSHA police will chime in here, but this tractor has never had the use of one. It was always a common practice to make sure it was in neutral before you started it anyway so....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

The switch is closed circuit when the tractor's range lever is in neutral so there is power to the starter solenoid. So just connect the wires that go to the switch.

I've tried that but I still get nothing. I'm beginning to think it may be in the wiring harness itself. I'll go through and check continuity tomorrow. thank you
