I inherited this from my Dad when he passed away. All I know is it is an Iseki G174 TX1500F with a 2 cyl diesel engine. He bought it used several years ago. It seems to turn over fast enough, but goes from no smoke to gray smoke, then might finally start after several minutes of intermittent cranking. Are these supposed to be started in the full throttle position then pulled back when it starts? Or just above idle? It's 60-70ー here in Ne so I have #2 diesel in it. New battery, new fuel filter. Once it's running, it seems fine. A little anemic, but it's only 17hp. After it's warm, if I kill it, or shut it off, forget getting it started. I've resorted to pull starting it with my other tractor, but that's a pain in the ***. I'm wondering if the injector pump is weak, or maybe the starter just doesn't turn over fast enough? Maybe the compression is low? Can you get overhaul kits? Rings, pistons, bearings for these? Any advice is greatly appreciated :)
