You're right - it's a huge gift - most any decent 1 acre building lot around here is 40 to 60 thou per acre... Doing the math that's quite a few 4310's. Since this thread started I actually let him use it to pull a stump. His will be back from the shop very soon - but he can use mine any time...

I work with a fellow who's in California - I was amazed at the value of land there. It's not cheap on this coast - but nothing like out there.
