1965 Ford 2000 ??

My first time on the forum.

My son was given a Ford tractor, he was told it was a 1965 model 2000. Now we are trying to confirm for sure. He has a John Deere, but he's always wanted to try and get an old tractor back in running condition and a new coat of paint. Now he has the chance.

The numbers he gave me were located on the flat area above and to the rear of the starter.

The engine had a different set of numbers.

We are doing this by phone calls and e-mails, I live in Florida and he lives in Texas.

Welcome to TBN.

There are several Ford tractor experts on here. Someone will chime in with the information you are looking for. You've listed the correct numbers. Be patient since it's a weekend. If you don't get an answer in a timely fashion, go to the nearest New Holland/Ford dealership with those numbers. The Parts counter can tell you the age of the tractor right down to the month it was built.

Share this website with your Son. He can start a thread concerning the restoration of the tractor. He'll have a LOT of questions. The knowledgeable members on here can help him with all of them. And we can watch the progress.

C10768 serial number would be a 1965

the date code on the engine raises question if correct?

that would be a August 09,1967 or could even be a 1977. the block or engine could have been replaced by now

It comes from lots pages of notes I saved years ago when I worked in parts at a Ford Dealer in Atlanta, along with the work of several others that have saved and made notes as machines crossed their paths
