Even if you do not know where it would be on this tractor, where shouldI start looking at? Good with cars but not with 3 cylinder diesel engines.

What is happening is that sometimes the tractor will not shut off when the key is turned off. Sometimes, it has a difficult time of a time starting even though there is fuel coming out of the mechanical fuel delivery pump. I am suspecting a marginal fuel cutoff solenoid. I do have a parts manual but it is in Japanese and unfortunately cannot tell where this solenoid it. I would suspect a pair of electrical wires going to it but have not found them yet.....

I found it. See the picture attached. That solenoid moves a lever in the fuel pump to open it or close it. What I noticed was this solenoid is active when the ignition is one. So, with a marginal battery (over 5 years old - i have to jump start it), idling and lights on, I can see the spring at the lever overcoming the tension that the solenoid provides. No more mystery now.
