ih 37 baler
I have a problem with the plunger, or pitman arm not being correct. The stroke is to short on pitman arm and plunger bottoms out. I need to know a measurement of pitman arm to see what is wrong. I know nothing about this baler aquired as is and previous owner gone. Any help i can get to fix problem would be grateful.

I dont know how the stroke can be too short, since it is a constant controlled by the throw of the crankshaft driving the pitman arm. ... Do you mean the plunger is hitting a stop in the chamber preventing a full stroke of the plunger? There is a shearpin behind the flywheel that will shear off when this happens. The stop is a safety device, which if triggered must be reset to resume normal operation.

plunger hits the front of baler {fly wheel }. I think someone has repaired it with the wrong part just not sure if its the plunger or pitman arm . if i pull center bolt out of pitman arm i can spin baler over and when plunger bottoms out pitman arm spreads 2.25 inches apart .
