Can\'t keep it up

My three point lift raises fine, and stays raised until I let go of the control lever. Then the lever moves forward and the 3pt. comes down. This has been going on for months now and I can't figure it. Nothing leaking, and the up pressure hasn't changed.

Worse of all, I wouldn't trust my local tractor guy with hydraulics if my life depended on it and the nearest hydraulic shop is a couple 100 miles away.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Can\'t keep it up

Possibly if you were to fill out the bio, someone might be able to help resolve this for you. Immediate information needed would be year, make, and model of tractor. Hours of use might also be helpful. If you put in your city and state, you never know when another TBN'r might come over to help resolve the problem if he is close. Sorry about more questions than answers, but without more of the facts, no one can help. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Welcome to TBN, /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Like Junkman was saying, we have to have more information to help.

Re: Can\'t keep it up

Find out what's supposed to hold the control lever in position, probably a mechanical friction washer.

Re: Can\'t keep it up

Depends on if your tractor has position control, draft control, or just up or down, no real position control.

If a typical position control, you might just need to tighten ever so slightly a big nut on the friction washer at the bottom of the lever, but we need to know the tractor you have.
