Eddie,
There is a program on Discovery Channel called "Tank School" that follows a marine class through - well - Tank School.
In one segment they lose a track on their M1 tank - in the mud - at night as I recall - and have to fix it by flashlight.
As I recall, they did not have the use of a tank recovery vehicle, or even a Ford 555 TLB. - But there were five of them.
Moral: Five Marines = Eddie + a TLB [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Your photos and comments are great and thanks for sharing your knowledge.Now that it is all done you should ask the heavy equip mechanic's how they do it, might be good for a few at-a-boys you never know.

Does it help that I spent five years in the Marine Corps. I was an embassy marine, never been in a tank though.
