Oliver 1855 diesel oil pressure problem

/ Oliver 1855 diesel oil pressure problem #11
I have a 1972 Oliver 1855 diesel that after initial startup, will idle around 55psi oil pressure and at 2000RPM its around 75psi. After using it for over an hour, oil press drops to 15-20psi @ idle and 35-40psi @ 2000RPM. Has anyone run across this before? Could it be oil pump? gauge? It runs great with almost no blowby or leaks. After its shut off and cools for 30 min or so, it will have good pressure again. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
I checked my opperators manual oil psi spec is 35-50 psi, rated at 2400 rpm. Sounds normal, maybe you can try recommended oil.
below zero +10 10-10w or10w30
+10 to +32 20-20w or10w30
+32 to +32 30w or 10w30
above +80 30w
I used 15w 40 to when I first bought mine, now I use rotella 10w30 .
If you need a opperators manual and shop manual contact Floyd County Museum in Charles City Ia 614-228-1099
They will print and send you a copy, they have the copyright. I think they were around $100 for both?
