I have a burnt MF135 diesel tractor and I have acquired an AS400 linciln welder fitted with a stationary perkins motor. The stationary motor is an A3.153 not the AD3.152 direct injection as fitted to the mF135. the crank on the stionary motor appears the same as the tractor ie it is not the extended splined crank. What problems am I likely to incur?
The water pump is siezed and I intend to replace both the water pump and rediator with new from Bareco. If I mount the water pump on the lower bolt holes I think it will line up.

Hi
If the bolt pattern on the front is the same it will fit ok I would replace the clutch at the same time.
the fuel supply lines are a little bit different but no real problem .
check the injector pump setting by giving all details to a pump overhaul specialist they will be able to tell you if the engine will perform the same as the original, apart from that i cant think of anything else.
Regards Hutch.

You might want to be careful. A few of us were having a similar conversation about JD motors the other day. The motor that came from the welder might be for stationary use only. In other words the block may not be strong enough to handle the added stresses of being an engine block and a tractor frame at the same time.
