I am pretty immune to seeing spelling errors on fast food signs and those portable billboards and such. I've seen so many that I just smile when I see one or point out the worst ones to someone for a good laugh. You know, the ones that say, "Applictions being accepted," or something similar. However, I am always astounded when I see professionally made highway signs or billboards with obvious errors.
A few years ago, I posted a picture of a new county line sign that was installed at the exit I take on the highway to come to my house. What I really thought was funny was that they removed a sign with the county name spell correctly and replaced it with one that was misspelled. The county name is Montague, not Montage. I called around until I found the people responsible for the sign, and within about three weeks, it was replaced with a corrected one. The fellow I talked to was pretty surprised and amused. I got the impression that he was going to "rub this in" on somebody in his office.
Now, not more than 1/2 mile up the highway, I saw this billboard yesterday and did a double-take. How could a professional sign company make this mistake? I told my wife that this was just "to" funny.
So, anyone else see any interesting signs? Got any pictures?
