It's all perspective. The guardrail at the end of the road in the second picture is almost a quarter mile from my driveway. The plane is another 3/4 of a mile past that, at least. Probably closer to a mile. I have a decent zoom.

Nice pics.
When I lived in Trenton, I once looked up from my grass cutting and saw a sight that made me shiver. It was a B52 touching down. I lived about 500 yds from the runway and it was airshow weekend coming up.

I've got a Minolta DiMage Z1. It has a 10 times optical zoom that is equivalent to a 38 to 380mm. Add the 4X digital zoom and it comes out to 1520mm . In low light is sucks, but on sunny days, I have lots of fun with it.

Thats a great shot, especially considering the range. Nice pics.

Good Evenin Wayne,
That box my friend, is a combination of steel and cast weights, that comes into the neighborhood of 450 lbs, to help the old girl get a bit of traction !

Good Evenin Dutch,
Yep, I just about talked myself into lighting the woodstove last nite !

Could be worse, if we were in Maine, you only get the last week of July and the first week of August before winter starts all over again !
