Dave.
This is my fathers retreiver ,He's almost 4 years old,I have a dog from the same mother that is 19 months and is already bigger and just as "red",They are both good gun dogs but they stay pups for too long and crave attention....I thought i'd got it out of him but i was away for 3 days last week and i lost 2 block heater cords and the clamps off my battery charger..When i came home he hid under the deck and the wife had to call him for supper ...He knew...?
It's funny they get together maybe twice a week and it's like a pair of bears wrestling and box with their front feet and if you're in the house they will sit at the french window "Waiting" and never move even in -35...Such a nice natured breed..!

You would'nt believe it but we're only 3 miles from town and have 2 major highways less than 2 miles away and 3 grain elevators within 3 miles...No trees, big farms and this is looking east where after about 15 miles you get up on the crown land and there aint nothing out there ..just trees, bears and log skidders..!
You probably can't get a room in a motel now for american hunters in town.....HaHa.. i sold a tractor to one last week who took it back to SD..I wish him luck crossing at emerson...lol

Thanks for sharing that. It's always interesting to see other landscapes. Sounds like you are in a nice location for farming, must be plenty of services around and yet not right on top of you. Not sure about the -35 degrees. We get down to -20 once in a while - it's a different kind of cold.

I know what you mean about dogs 'knowing' when they have done something. It's like they know better but just can't resist. The 'A dogs gotta do what a dogs gotta do', thing.

I suppose it takes a pile of paperwork and a ton of patience to get a tractor across the border. It's a lot more complicated than it used to be for sure.

Have a good one, Dave.

Taken from the end of my driveway, but looking back in towards our little place we have dubbed "A Couple of Achers" And no, achers is not spelled wrong. It refers to the couple that own it, rather then the amount of land surrounding it.

Nice. Funny about the "achers"...

John, where about in Ontario is your town? I'm not familiar with the name.

Here's a picture at dawn from my front porch taken in September (it's actually a composite of 12 photos).
