I don't know if it is exposure sunlight or air but it gets duller once it is split

It's Albino Cedar. It is born purple and turns red when exposed to light.

I guess I'll burn it. Had I known before I cut it I might have tried to use it for something else. Now that I know it's cedar, I can use it on the bottom row of the wood pile as an insect barrier.

Do not burn cedar indoors or in a woodstove, the fumes can be noxious if inhaled.
Outside... ok.

But still it's too pretty a wood to burn.
