I think EVERY American should view them (and more) to realize what our country went through. One thing to read history books, but as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
When you think about the losses and how many died so quick on the battlefield during that war, at least for myself, it boggles the mind.
Great collection. Always interesting to see historic images of places I know. For example there is a nice shot of the The Aqueduct bridge from Arlington (about 23 down, 3rd over).
Remnants of the bridge are still there today and can be viewed from the C&O Canal.
