Was fooling around with some friends that came over for a little 4th celebration, and they insisted that I put my M5 up against my 5M (JD 5085M). So here are the pics we took.

If, for some reason, I could only have one, it would be the Deere of course! :D

And you would be correct. The M5 was purchased used for about half of what I paid (or rather will be paying over the next 60 months @ 0%) for the 5085M w/ loader and misc. other accessories.

The M5 did sticker at $96k new. I would never have been able to afford that. Paid $37.5k used 2 years ago.

Both NEW what one would cost more? I know the tractor im looking at now is only a cple hundred difference then what I just paid for my new dually. I havent a clue what a BM'er cost new but I know that DEERE is on up there......

The M5 would edge out the 5M. The tractor with options (loader w/ grapple, etc) list for $88k vs. the $94k for the BMW. Keep in mind that the M5 is a 2006 model, and the 5085M is a 2012 model. A 2010 (last year of the E60 M5) listed at about $110k or so fully optioned. They depreciate way quicker than tractors, which put one within my budget a few years ago.
