I took another picture this evening after I was done working. The sun was behing me, behind the trees, but there was a hint of color on the water that I liked.

I grew up water skiing in CA and understand the hunt for glass and the battle dealing with other boats. Lake Palestine is 25,000 acres and except for the big boating holidays, it's always empty. Some days I don't see any boats on it at all, and a busy day I might see a dozen. 2/3rdsof the lake is shallow and stumpy. It's a great fishing lake, but you have to go towards the dam for deap water. Of course, where there are no stumps 6 ft of water is plenty for water skiing.

Here is why I have been absent from this list
so much recently. I bought this truck, picked it
up and drove it from Ft Lewis area to Seattle
to Spokane to CDA and back to Spokane parking it for
2 months, then I went back up and retreived it
in 7 degree weather (it started right up after 2
months of sitting) and drove it some 1500 miles
to L A to begin work on it, AND use it.

    I have been
helping some freinds tow 149 of these beasts
off USMCLB base in Yermo to there demise in eventually a
melting pot as demanded by DOD, ( I think they
need the steel to make up-armored trucks) One
look at a 7Ton Armored truck and you will see why.
Picture a piece of plate .5" thick bolted to the bottom
like 8' x 8' molded in a blast directional way)

OK who knows EXACTLY where I was? Taken on my smartphone,
this was along the route I took
down to L A . I made it from Spokane to 2 hours north of
Vegas in about 20 hours, driving no-stop. Then I slept in the cab
for 3 hours then on to Primm Nevada for a hotel then home.
It was actually fun! When you drive in this you actually look down
into Kenworths and Peterbuilts a tad. I exaterate looking down
at all the truckers w/ a wave or a salute who give give me
the thumbs up or generally go beszerk w/ glee over how
cool this thing is, and it is... Those tires are about 49" tall
and weigh a lil over 400# I believe. I have a chain fall to
lower and raise them if I get a flat.
