    If a wire wasn't shorted it wouldn't work. What you have is an intermittent open!

    Electronics is smoke and magic. If you let the smoke out of something it doesn't work anymore - the magic is getting the smoke back in.

    I miss upstate NY when I see photo's like yours. Then I remember it being dark going to work in the morning and being dark going home after work with what seemed like continuous snow for 3 weeks, added the whiteouts and the 50" dumpings in 24 hours, and then I don't miss it
