The power of nature



This is a picture I took a few years back. This tree was hit by lightning. I was amazed and took the picture.

The sap in a tree boils instantly when hit by lighting causing tree to go boom.

I've heard that if a tree gets struck before the rain starts it goes through the sap inside the tree causing more damage. If it is already wet with rain it will more likely just follow the outside of the trunk to the ground. I don't know if it is true or not but is sounds logical.
