I have never been stung by anything other than bees and wasps. How did the sting compare?? Pain wise?

The giant silkworm moth caterpillar of South America is responsible for at least 500 known deaths and possible many more. The sting is not that painful but leads to much more destruction of the body starting with fever and ending with hematoma in the brain. Treatment must begin within 4 hours of the sting or death results. Most deaths occur because people don't realize they have been stung by this deadly beast thinking rather that they had an ant bite. Sure glad we don't have them here in the USA.

It is Sadleback, thank you.

I was harvesting my grapes - nice crop this year btw - and on mere touch of the palm edge I could feel tingling all the way to the end of my little finger. It was quite surprising, like a yellow jacket without the injection.
