Women, firewood and tractors

Here is a series of pics of us putting up some firewood. We rented a splitter this year and my wife really took to it.

This is the pile she split. It was stuff to long or to fat for me to split by hand

Since it was to long for our wood stoves it had to be cut down. My wife does love the chain saw.

They do let me use the tractor on occasion

This is mydaughter pulling birch saplings out. First she pushes them over with the bucket and then uses a chain to pull them out and haul them away.

The saplings can spring out unexpectedly so she has to wear the hardhat as well

Last one of my daughter dragging the birch saplings down the drive to dump in the front of the property.

It sure is tough when the women of the household take over all the fun jobs /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Jeesh and he's 30 miles from me. I hope it doesn't spread /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I do let the wife on the tractor, but the chainsaw is all mine. In the name of safety of course - Wifey can be a little timid around power tools. Respect is warranted, but scared + chainsaw is a bad combination.
