Here's a local story with a happier ending: (edited)

A 33-year-old man is facing theft charges after a $60,000 skid-steer loader was stolen from a business this week.


Regional police say the 2009 multi-terrain machine was stolen from a development site around 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 1. Luckily, the skid loader had a global positioning system attached to it and was traced to a farm.


When police arrived they noticed the vehicle right away, sitting on the property. A 33-year-old man was charged with theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
