This seems rather odd. Kristie Asbury, kristie@power-trac.com has listed a slightly used 1850 i KS on the PT Used PTs page. One might speculate that PT is trying to handle some kind of dispute where they had to accept a return of equipment...

There have been a several times that the company has listed used equipment since I've followed them, often at the top of the page.

I'm not sure if it has been "trade-in" equipment, disputes or what, I just know that it has happened several times...

Always entertaining to browse the used sales page on the power -trac site.

The following caught my eye: a 1989PT-420. It looks like it has a water cooled engine. I never heard that before. It also looks like it is a straight 4 cylinder engine. It doesn't look much different in size;I wonder how they shoe-horned it in? It looks like the engine fills up most of the engine comoartment, without room for the typical double hydraulc pumps in a row hooked in series with the engine. Maybe belt driven?

It also has backup lights installed in the frame. Cool idea. On one of the pictures, you can see disc brakes on the front wheels.

With the newer hydraulic QA system (and Aux circuit) and the ROPS/FOPS, that could be a real neat machine!

actually on second look, at least one hydraulic pump is hanging out of the back of the engne tub.

Sure would like to see some side shots of the engine compartment. Gas tank is mounted on the back of the engine compartment cover, which seems like a nice feature.

What is the black tank opposite the muffler in the first photo? Really like the color of the tractor.

Industrial style air cleaner, I think, similiar to the one on the Kohler shown below.

That air cleaner is available as an option on robin engines, but I seem to recall someone here saying they had tried to install it, and it wouldn't fit. Of course, YMMV, since variations in engine, hydraulic pmp, and gas tank locations might allow it to fit certain models.

Dogone it, there is 30 minutes lost. Every time someone flashes up a picture of a small water cooled engine, I end up loosihg 30 minutes comparing dimension to the Robin EH72 (8" longer with the radiator), and reviewing scarg's 175 page PT429 converson thread, then thinking "how hard would it be just to cut off the back of hetub and make it6" longer so that Kawasaki 29 would fit (with the radiator mounted on the engine).

Bottom line is that it won't fit without some serious modifications....

Here, I will let you all waste some time...

Looking at that engine, I believe that is a diesel engine, like a small Kubota diesel.
and those hoses going to the cyl are the fuel injectors, perhaps.

My PT-1445, is a gas 4 cyl, water cooled, Ford industrial engine. , built about the early 90's.

They could have been playing around experimenting with several variants.

Yep, diesel, and the large black canister is an sir cleaner, like the one on my Kubota.

Just what I was thinking, the lines that look a bit like spark plug wires actually appear to be oil lines to the injectors. And the fuel tank is in the top of the engine cover, seems like that would make the cover even heavier.
