Looking for PT 180
Hello

I would like to see if I can purchase a used Power Trac PT 180 but do not seem to have any luck finding any out there> Are there any particular websites that I might be able to look into to find something used?

Thank you Zekes

Welcome to TBN! Not too many 180s out there. You can check the Power Trac website. They have used machines sometimes. Implements, too.

Whenever I buy something I like to get the largest engine in the frame size that I want. It's usually a wash when comparing dollars to horsepower. However, the prices on the PT425 have gone up over the years. It was $8000 back in 2001. Its $11,000 today. The 180 is $6500. The 422 is $8500. What do you get for $2500 more in a 425 than the 422? ROPS. 6" higher lift. Bigger engine. Two steering cylinders (I think the 422 still has one). Commercial use won't void the warranty (which is kind of a weak warranty anyway). A jump from $6500 to $11,000 is quite a bit. A used 180, if he can find one, could be a fun starter machine for cheap. But unless he's mechanically inclined, it could also be a frustrating money and time pit. I suppose that goes with any used machinery, though.

...and capable to run a 5' mower deck versus a 4' for the 422 and 180?

AFAIK, the new 425s have 14.3ci White CE-series wheel motors with bolt-on wheel motor boxes, while the PT-422s have White RS-series 12.5ci wheel motors with welded on wheel motor boxes. That alone probably adds several hundred dollars to the cost difference.

We found our PT 180 on C-list for $3500.00, it came with a finish mower, trencher, and bucket with a toothbar.
It's about to get a small diesel engine installed from a semi truck APU.
