I'm nearing my 10 year anniversary on my PT purchase and I've been thinking of selling a couple of attachments so I went over to the PT site to check the current prices.......and that of course led me to add up the cost of everything I originally bought to see what it would cost me today.........and I guess I was kind of shocked.......in 10 years the cost of my machine and all the attachments has only risen less than 6%......a little over $1200.....with the way everything else has gone up over those years I was expecting it to be a lot more.......I know when I go to replace my 10 year old car it's going to be a whole lot more than 6%.........now if PT is reading this it doesn't mean go and raise the prices......haha.......Jack

That's not bad at all, very reasonable, the only difference is the old one is Kohler powered correct? If so,pricing a kohler on the new one would likely add 500-1000 dollars..to the cost..IF you could get one.

mines the robin........haven't had any problems with it but also have an embarrassingly low 310 hours on it so it really doesn't get pushed.....Jack

Don't forget to run any price comparison over the years through an Inflation Calculator (e.g. Inflation Calculator | Find US Dollar's Value from 1913-2015). You may find that any price "rise" could just be keeping up with inflation, or not. For example if you paid $15,000 in 2005 for a PT and attachments with inflation the price in 2015 would be $18,275.35 just keeping up with inflation. It seems then that PT is not raising their prices but perhaps isn't even compensating for inflation and the decreasing value of the dollar every year.

My total package including shipping was just shy of $13,000 in 2001. In today's dollars that would be $17,476.19.

According to PT's website the same package would cost me $16,115 today, but no shipping. So $1300 for shipping wouldn't surprise me.

I paid $8000 for just the tractor in 2001. Today it is $11,000. Inflation calculator says it should be $10,754.58, so they're about $250 more when adjusted for inflation, but I would get a higher lift height, that's a plus, but a Subaru engine..... not going there today.

That leaves me $5400 for more attachments for my PT425....

Stump grinder - $1200
Tiller - $1400
48" lift boom - $350
Mini-hoe - $1300
Winch - $950

That's $5200....

Ooops, I forgot I'd have to buy a 3rd party brush cutter, another small rock bucket with teeth and loading ramps.....

I'll go cheap at TractorSupply so about $900 for the cutter, I'll skip the small bucket and add a Piranha Tooth Bar for $229 (plus shipping), and get some loading ramps from Norther Tool for $350... That gives me another $1479 for PT attachments....

I'm gettin' a grapple bucket, darn it!!! $1300.

So, $6500.... and a couple hundred left over, I'm taking my wife to a fine dining establishment called....

EAT!
