I wanted to post a story of my trip to Power Trac. The original thread has a lot of additional posts in it, (which was fine), but I would like to be able to post the complete story with pics in this thread. Hopefully, you will enjoy the pics and information.

I had been looking around for something that could do more than my Ventrac 4200 when it came to digging, and other FEL type of jobs around the yard. I was at the point where I could afford to invest in one additional attachment and decided to check out other options.

That led me to TBN and a passionate group of PT owners. The more I read, the more I wanted to lear about this little giant. A trip to MossRoad's web site inticed me more. I finally posted some questions on TBN and quickly received many replies.

My biggest concern was not losing the slope mowing capability that I had come to enjoy with my 4200. I did not expect it to mow 30 degrees, but 15+ would be nice...

I made come contacts through the TBN conversations, and accepted an invitation to try out a 425 that was located only 15 minutes from my house, what luck!

After about an hour on the little giant, I was hooked!

After selling my Ventrac and several conversations with Scott Gentry and Terry Estep, asking a lot of "newbe" type of questions, I decided to take the trip to Tazwell Virginia.

I agreed to take a vacation day on Friday so that I could get down there and play with the tractors. Normally, they could arrange for someone to be in the office on Saturday, but since it was the beginning of hunting season, I was informed that there was no way that anyone would be in the office!

Ok, so Scott set me up with a room in the local motel and I couldn't WAIT till Thursday afternoon when I could take off from work to go.

Wednesday night, I loaded my 4200 up on the trailer and took it into work with me Thursday morning. Man, the jokes were flying! "Farmer boy", "Digger", "Red Neck", all in good fun. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

2:30, and I was out the door! I dropped the 4200 off on the way down and pulled into the motel around 12:30am...

Man, I could hardly sleep, but soon enough, 7:00am rolled around. A quick shower, shave sheet and tooth brushing and it was off to that Hardees that I passed last night for a little breakfast snack.

Man, was it packed! Must be the hot spot in Tazwell for breakfast

Tazwell is kind of a sleepy little town tucked in the hills on the border of Virginia and West Virgnina. People seem friendly enough and 4 wheel drive trucks are everywhere...

Hey, I only got lost once, ok? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Even with the wrong turn, it was a very short drive to Power Trac in the Tazwell Industrial Park.

Man, I was getting excited now... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Scott had told me about their new office, but when seeing it, I was pretty impressed. Business must be going well!

I quick found a parking spot and ran, (I mean) walked inside.

Scott was in his new office and we sat down to chat a little about the company, where they were going and most importantly, what I was picking up that day.

He was very patient with all of my questions and gave me a little history of how things work with PT. I was impressed with everyone at the company who seemed to be very friendly.

We took a short ride over to the parts building to say hi to Terry and get a peek at their parts supplies and finished tractors. To get there we had to drive by the building where the parts and tractors are fabricated.

Scott pointed out the slab area where PT is putting up a new building to expand their assembly operation.
