PT425 vs. PT1430 Mystery?

   / PT425 vs. PT1430 Mystery? #31
All engines have at least 3 ratings, continuous, intermittent, and automotive. Some are rated with flywheel, oil pump, alternator, etc., some without. All horsepower ratings are not on the same scale, the devil is in the details.
A good article explaining ac, dc motors, gas, diesel engines, hydraulic pumps & motors apeared in Hydraulics & Pneumatics a few months ago. Might help those who do not understand these relations.

Looking over the Deutz website the D910-L2 is the only air cooled 2 cylinder engine that I could find that was 3000 rpm. All the others are 2800 rpm. This engine is actually rated at 31.5hp highly intermittent use and 29.9hp intermittent use. So this could explain the gap between the two engines even more. Is this the engine that's in the 1430?

PT uses the 1011 series of Deutz engines. Technically the engines are oil cooled--they have an integral radiator and a fan attached to the alternator shaft to force cooling air over the oil cooling radiator.
