    Default Power rake. How deep?

How deep will the PT-425 power rake cut? I notice that some other brands of power rakes will cut up to 5 inches deep. That is only one inch less than most rotor tillers.

Is is feasible to use the power rake as a light tiller for preparing flower beds and vegetable gardens thereby avoiding the expense of a rotor tiller? At least the rake would windrow the rocks making them easier to pick up.

You can adjust the rear wheels and dig 5 to 6" deep. Leaves a fine powder seed bed. Also works well leveling gravel drives with hard humps and washes. We also use to remove sod and soil to pour or lay sidewalks and driveways.
    Good Tool!!!

Thanks for the info. One more question. You said the power rake <<Leaves a fine powder seed bed.>> Does the ground have to be very dry for the power rake to work or will in work the same soils as the rotor tiller?

For 62 years I have lived on the Pacific Coast where growing seasons are DRY and irrigation is absolutely necessary. I don't have much experience working damp or wet round. Next month I will be moving to southern Missouri where I am told to expect, on average, 4-5 inches of rain a month, 12 months a year.

the power rake is a great tool for fine grading and top soil spreading and working it into area. If your interested check it out. It's far better than a tiller in my opinion. I have used mine only a couple times and need it no longer. It's much better if your a landscaper or grading specialist to maximize the price. Hope this helps. This is for a PT 425 web page Power Rake
