finally, the combination of temperature and the badly needed precipitation have put us back to work. last saturday we had our pt425 and our two acrease wing mowers (kunz eng.)out to make some money. it looks like this week we will have to mowe all the customers for the first time

That is good news, must feel good to get some seat time again. Would like to see a picture of those wing mowers if you get a chance.

Do you run one on each side? You must have jobs with very large open areas.

no, for some odd reason, called control, i run them off to my left. it seems easier to maneuver that way. it also makes a nicer pattern.

one estate of 185 acres has an allee of close to two miles and we have to mow 40 feet on either side of that driveway, quite a few 10 acre lots, horse pastures. enough to keep us busy.

That sounds very enjoyable, right now i'm looking outside and its snowing very heavy. The thought of green and seat time weigh heavy on me.

Bubenberg,

These mowers look interesting. What made you choose this brand? I assume you use the PT's mower with the Kunz. Can you tell a big difference in the pattern?

Also, how many hours on your PT? What problems have you had with it? (Sorry for all the questions...still deciding on my next tractor). Would love to see some pics of your setup.

Re: power trac 425\'s mowing season has started

no problem with the questions. what made me choose this brand? well: my back, my labor cost, the combination of kunz mowers, combined with pt425 60 inch finish mowers makes a pattern that the competition can't copy, sending 104 inches over the side of a hill, pond side mowing made easy.

father and son are both from farmstock and have the necessary academic training (ag. machinery eng). father kunz was in the mowing device portion of large combines for many years, before he opened his own business. son just graduated and is the senior test pilot for acrease, i am responsible for testing on the east coast, and don't get paid. not even when i end up in a pond with the whole rig. but that is another story. the pond is large enough for a small sailboat.

sorry, no pictures, need someone to help me to get going with my hp camera, the scanner and the pc. feel free to ask any question, if i don't have an answer someone on this site will. of all the sites this in my humble opinion the best one. many sites more oriented toward the prof. landscaper and turf specialist are nothing but one big redondent argument, no one ever searches to see if an answer already has been given before. GET A PT AND YOU WONT MISS!!!!!!!

Re: power trac 425\'s mowing season has started

So let me get this right. You are mowing with 104" of width and a 425!!!??? Do you find the rig comforable for that long a time? How do you rate the quality of cut on the 425 with the PT 60 inch. Does it pass the test with a picky owner for quality of cut. Would you recommend the 425 with a 60" for someone trying to mow commercially?

How do you like the Kohler? Do you find the rig to be overly noisy?

thanks,

doggman
