I am looking a buying a John Deere 2755, 4x4, with 4600 hrs. new tires in the rear and 80% on the front. Does anyone know of any problems or anything I should watch out for. Thanks

Basically 55 series are some of the best utility tractors that JD built in Mannheim,Germany. If it has a SGB the wiring harness/printed circuit board left some to be desired.

the only thing wrong with them is the newest ones are nearly 20 years old.i would buy a new one now instead of what jd sells now.

We have a JD 2550 (65hp, otherwise very similar) and it has been a great tractor. Only problems to date have been the lower draft link seals have had to be replaced (common problem, but easy to replace) and a couple other misc. seals and hoses due to age. The 55 series were the last that used the basic 'new generation' platform, which started with the 10 and 20 series in the 60's. To this date JD still doesn't make anything that was directly comparable to the 2355-2755.

My advice is to post the question in the JD forum.................

Not that you've gotten, good or bad advice here, it's just that it exposes you to more information on that specific tractor.
