I have a 1962 cub cadet original. I need to replace the rod because the engine burned out all it's oil and the rod wore out, there is also something wrong with the governor. it also needs a new set of rings. the engine is apart right now, should I spend the money to fix the engine?

if the s/n maches the frame s/n I would try to keep its born with engine in it.

yea I actually got this runnin yesterday it needed a new engine basically it had a completely screwed piston, the crank and rod were shot and the cylinder was worn bad

That looks similar to the one I used to cut grass with many years ago. Does it have a cogged tooth belt on the mower deck?

yea it does the deck is in a rectangular shape as well, and u turn on the deck by pushing down on a belt tighter pedal on the deck

Yep, that's it, except ours didn't have headlights. Dad traded it in on a Cub Cadet 106.
