The JD 5045e is definately more tractor than the Mahindra 5010. The Mahindra 5035 would be the closest match to the 5045E, and the Mahindra 4530 or 5530 although heavier than the JD may be some what a closer match than the 5010. Look up the specs on the tractors you are comparing, and go over them spec by spec.

I looked at the JD 5045 and cple mahindras, the mahindra did seem to be a heavier built tractor and also less money(well i guess i should say can get more hp with the mahinda for same money) but just didnt like the controls or operator station on either. The JD 5045 was the same price as the kubota m5040(now the 5140) so I went with the it. It I had to pick out of the 2 would be the JD just cause re-sale value....

look at the new holland work master 45, it is 45 hp 4 cylinder motor, has a 8x8 shuttle shift trans so loader work and all is a lot easier and smoother. they have 0% for 60 months too.

ive got a cousin that has a 65hp mahinda i think.an i looked it over real good after i bought my kubota.an the front axel looks real thin even though its a 2wd drive.an it has a loader on it as well.
