them the 5000 and 5610 series imo one of the best and tuffest tractors ever made they or pretty much idiot proof i run two of them and bought and sold alot of them

we farm 1500 acres and i still use a 7600 with over 8000hrs on original engine as one of our main tractors only fault is no AC

Like Whodat said, the x000, x600, and x610 series Fords were some of the best ever made. The re-sale value confirms it. That 30-40 year old tractor will still bring 50-75% of it's new price.

I still have a 2600. 1979 model. I've had it since 1984. Other than normal maintenance, the only money I've spent on it was replacing the PTO seal and one rear wheel seal and brake shoes. That's it. Nearly 2000 hours and it still has the original clutch. (but it's about time for a new one)
I also had a 7610. When I sold it in 2010, it was still a great tractor. I just replaced it with a cab-tractor.
My neighbor has a 2000 that he bought new, in the late '60's. I saw him on it yesterday.

i have a 5000 and 4600.. love them...

i hear the 5600 went back to the smaller engine.. but no biggie.

The pourous block are always well documented with fords but to be honest we've had 20 odd TW/ 00 and 10 series fords over the years and only one bad block which was on a 3 year old 6610 with 1800 hrs on it (1983) and bought new by us .
