flail mower 907 replacement blades

Does anyone know if the 917 blades will work on a 907? I cannot find any blade part numbers for the 907.

Light duty or heavy the same, meaning would either work on the 907?

You should check with the flailmaster folks about the two different mowers,

The 917 has two different styles of knives being the side slicer and the scoop knive. Which of these two do you have on your Ford 917 flail mower?

I have the side slicer/cutting type on there now.

And just for clarification, I have the 907 mower.

What is the mower width?

The question is which blades do you have-the fine cut 3-1/2 inch or
the coarse cut blades 3 inch blades?

The other issue is the mounting holes do you have the
.34 inch by .68 inch mounting hole or 1 inch by 1/2 inch mounting hole?

I have 27 stations with two fine cut blades side by side. The holes appear to be more like the .34 however I haven't measured them. There is a D ring holding them on yes.

Your mower has 27 stations needs 54 side slicers
and it is 5 feet wide in cut.

According to the folks at Flail Master and using the
917 as a guide you have the coarse cut model 907
flail mower rotor because it only has 27 knive stations.

Using the 5 foot cut 917 as a guide only-it would have
81 stations and 162 knives/side slicers if it was
fine cut flail mower.


Please measure the length of the knives in the mower to
be sure they are either 3 inches or 3 1/2 inches long to verify
whether you have the fine cut side slicer knives or the coarse
side slicer knives.



According Flail Master your flail mower needs the following:

FM-7 heavy duty blades @ $0.79 cents EACH

FM-222157 link which is @ $1.62 EACH
also used on the 907 Flail Mower

FM-7502617 Hanger @ $2.25 EACH

750-Carriage bolt @ $0.24 EACH

750-LN Lock Nut @ $0.19 EACH

I looked through the flailmaster catalog but it doesn't say the 917 blades also fit the 907. I did see where the FM-222157 link does reference it. So I wasn't sure.

I will need some shortly so I gotta get some orderd asap.

I indeed called them. They confirmed what you suggested. The Ford 907 will work with the 917 blades, shackles and hangers.

You are most welcome. I am glad I could help you. you should invest in a WEN wet well knive/scizzor grinder to wet grind your side slicers which will prevent them from overheating and becoming brittle.

I bought mine for my flail mower over thirty years ago and its a life saver as the knife depth guage and grinding angle prevent over grinding and the wet well prevents overheating.
