any news on the 270 Backhoe?

Been a while since I posted here , and I still have the same question regarding the 270 hoe
as posted by JD 2 years ago. It seems the 270 backhoe was designed to be installed without having to
remove the hydraulic lifter for my MMM or the three point hitch, which is the main reason for that new design over the 46. But then they never said anything more about it other than they were working out a few bugs and it would be on the market by Jan of 2012. I am not sure what ever became of this , but a few Dealers I talked to had no clue as to what JD intended to do about it. Last I asked a dealer was back in May of this year. Has anyone heard anything further?? if so please feel free to reply here

I grew tired of waiting for the 270 and recently bought a 46. At this point with all the delays and issues I would not want to be buying any of the first released models.

The 270 backhoe has disappeared from John Deere, even though dealers who saw it in action at a dealers show thought it was a major improvement over the 46 BH due to the quick attach (or iMatch) feature. There is speculation that Deere is holding off until the new 2R series comes out this year (affecting the 2300, 2500 and 2700 series) before introducing any replacement for the 46 BH. But Deere has been mum on the whole issue.

Even though the 2520 and 2720 will no longer be made, will the new BH 46 replacement be made available for the 2520 and 2720?

Although JD has made no announcement, it looks from their build your own website and dealers who have been to recent JD training that the new 270A backhoe will fit the 2320 but not the larger 2000 series due to the difference in underframe. While the original 270 was supposed to fit an iMatch, the 270A might only allow it to be connected to the 3 pt hitch (meaning the 46BH would still be made for the larger 2000's and require the arms to come off). There is now a JD part number for the 270A but dealers cannot yet order it.

Really? Not the greatest news. . So the 2320 gets the improved BH and the 2520 and 2720... Are there any plans for an improved BH for the 2520/2720?

Whether there is a new backhoe for the 2520 and 2720 or just the existing 46 is unclear and appears to be connected to the whole redesign of the 25 HP+ 2R series, which JD was supposed to announce weeks ago. What is clearer is the 270A fits only the 2320. The dealer I spoke with saw the 270A in action just recently at a training so one hopes this gets cleared up soon.

The dealer that I spoke with indicated that the only difference between the 2520/2720 and new 25+HP 2R series is the Tier 4 compliant engine so it's odd that the 270 won't fit the 2520/2720. Hopefully there is some clarity soon!
