Hello, I am wondering if someone with a factory build 3phpost hole auger could do some measurements for me, I;ve attached a pic of the measurements I need to start my build (A,B,C,D).
Thank you in advance.
No problem.. I'll try to get some measurements tomorrow, mine is a Kubota BL-80A. It's in a snowbank at the moment, so it may take a few days to get to it!
The adjustable plate where the " U " attaches to is 12" long with 5 holes as you can see in the pic. It is
attached starting at 20" from the end. The tubing is all 2 3/4" OD.
I got some pics and measurements. Mine has a piece of plate/rib welded to the bottom of the beam to attach the yoke. I'd recommend that if you're building, it keeps the beam stronger if you don't drill holes through it to attach the yoke.
The bend angle on my main beam is more than 90 degrees, it looks more like 120 degrees. The pics I took, I tried to get as square as I could to the digger, so if you wanted to lay a protractor on the screen it should be fairly accurate. The rib the yoke attaches to is 1/3 x 3 flat bar, the tube is 2 7/8 diameter, and the distance from the end hole where it attaches to the tractor top link point to the yoke pivot is 25". All the measurements are center to center of the holes or pins. The length of the beam measurements are to the middle of the bend since mine doesn't form a 90 degree corner.
A = 54"
B = 22"
C = 52" with a 42" long auger
D = 17.5 inches pin to pin, to the center of the beam is 21"
This design is fairly strong, I can say for sure that a Kubota L3400 WILL NOT bend it, believe me I've tried when the auger was stuck under a rock ledge.. If you need some more detailed pics let me know.
