I have a Ford 4400 that has a category 2 3 pt hitch. That means most of the implements I'm looking at need some sort of bushing or pin change. For my plow, the pins aren't long enough to go all the way through the lift arm balls, and are cast in to the cross member. So I don't know what I'm going to do. Has anybody swapped out the lift arm balls for Category 1? I bought some Cat 1 balls but have not tried to switch them. The current balls appear to be held in by some spring clips that look like they could be easily broken - especially since they are 40+ years old. Any advice?

So the pin on the plow isn't threaded with a nut so you can take it off? If not, what about cutting it off with a grinder and then putting one on you can use? I use those little bushing or sleeves or whatever they're called when implement pins are smaller category than the tractor. Can get them at TSC.

Its a 1950ish Dearborn that I bought from a guy who refurbished it. I don't want to alter it if I don't have to.
