yanmar 1500, 3 pt. lift will not lower

The lift arms on my Yanmar 1500 will not lower. I tried turning the round knob at the front of the seat, but this did not seem to help. It seemed like there was no resistance when the knob was turned. I then removed the plate at the top of the piston (the head I guess) and then removed the plate at the bottom of the piston at the rear or the tractor. The lift arms can now be moved up and down, but only by applying a great deal of force. Does anyone have any idea what to do to get the lift arms to move more easily? /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I had a similar problem with my 2220D. I removed the round knob and lifted up gently up on the lift arms. This pressured up the seat and blew it and whatever was sticking the seat out. I then cleaned and replaced the seat, system works great now. Hope this helps. FYI, be careful and have someone catch the seat as it comes out as it comes out with some force.
