I bought a JD2305 7/31/2013 with 82 hour on it, The previous owner said he purchased it new in 2010 for his mini farm. After 5 weeks of ownership the tractor would not start, only a buzzing coming from under the dash, Thanks to your forum, I decided it was the battery even though I had been using it and only shut it off for lunch and them it would not start. So thanks to everyone who had posted on that problem. So anyway I take the battery out and it has stamped on it manufactured Oct. 2008, I am thinking surely JD would not put a 2008 battery in a 2010 tractor, them I also notice that the engine was manufactured in 2008.The FEL has manufactured in NOV 2010. I called the previous owner and he swears he bought it new in 2010. I am thinking that either it was a left over 2008 that he may have bought in 2010 or is it possible that the tractor was really made in 2010 and JD installed a 2 year old battery and engine in it? Seem pretty far fetched. The tractor serial no. is LV2305H-42601 and the engine serial no is CH30011d259401x. So far my experience with the local JD dealer is not to impressive and they are no help.

Any JD dealer can run the serial number. That will tell when it was first sold. I'll bet it was a left over 2008 and the buyer had a loader installed when he bought it.

Got in touch with someone from JD website, She said that the motor in my tractor was made in Nov. 2008 and the tractor was assembled in 2/19/2009 so I guess regardless of when it was sold, technically is is a 2009 model. She also did say I have the upgraded rear end. So I feel a lot better now. Thanks
