Hi all. I spend most of my time with the bigger tractors, but my CC 1440 won't start. Battery is good, voltage is getting to the starter, but it only groans and turns the engine just barely. I'm guessing worn bushings = high current draw, but need to get the starter out. Do you have to pull the engine? It looks like the bolts are unreachable in the chassis, darn it. Only 375 hours on this rig, very good condition, which makes me wonder why starter would be worn. Hoping for some advice here. Thank you.

I will repost this on the Cub Cadet forum as there was a thread there not too long ago describing the exact same problem on a 1000 Cub but now I can't find the thread or remember the fix- but it was fixed easily without removing the engine or the starter.
