I owned a model 1710 from 1985 to 1999. It was a great tractor. My only issue was how light weight the model 1710 was. I needed to be able to use a dirt pan on the three point hitch. The front end would not stay on the ground. Granted front end weights would probably have helped, but my wife opened the door for me to get a new tractor.

After I traded it the man who owned the local Ford tractor dealership at that time told me that the seals on the model 1710 was good for about 2500 hours of use before things started to come apart.

    Good luck on your search.
