Tractor
John Deere 990
While not quite as elaborate as some of the tractor sheds I've seen posted, but I finally got my new shed installed. Its 20' x 26' w/8' tall sidewalls. 2" rectangular steel tubing for framing and steel siding/roof. 3 other guys and myself finished it in about 6 hours total.

I'm happy and the Mrs is too since the tractor is now under wraps......... I'll probably start working on some upgrades like roof vents; more windows; etc.. as time goes on.

Looks good. Did that come as a kit. Can it be modified size/hight etc. What kind of price tag did it have.
Thanks
Doug

Started with a basic setup from All-Steel Carports, then enclosed all the sides and cut in and mounted the doors and windows using low-rent mobile home type hardware. The normal wall height is 5' so I had to upgrade to get the 8' clearance for the 8'x10' rollup door (which goes up nicely and tucks out of the way leaving a lot of room inside) with a rough price of ~$3800. I had some quotes for a pole-barn that started at $10k-12k for the same size building so decided to go this way. Added mobile home anchors that are bolted on the inside steel frame and drilled into the ground about 3' deep. By the way, putting up one of those rollup doors is a real back-breaker since you lift the whole assembly (rolled up) to the header to mount it on brackets.........sweated that one.

One added benefit of this approach is that the county building inspectors don't require you to get a building permit, and this type of construction is considered a "temporary" building (no fixed foundation/footers) = no property taxes applied. Also it will allow me to actually move the building if we ever wanted to at a later date.........which also eliminated a lot of hassles with the Mrs. regarding deciding exactly where to put the building.

Nice job... I've been trying to find a wood kit structure around that size. They seem a little more expensive, I'll look into modifying a carport now. Good idea!

Nice!

Heh. And my little 8X9 Arrow, with steel frame and resin sides/roof, took:

1. 4 days, and still not done.
2. A trip to the Dr's office to have my Sacroilliac Joint reset.
3. Another trip to the Dr's office to have Cortizone injections in above said joint.
4. 4 days in bed.

I MIGHT be able to finish it next weekend :)

Nice Champy...

Now that you are practiced up, you want to come south and build another one or two :)

Actually (like most things), now that I've done it once, it wasn't really all that hard to figure everything out and do it.........the biggest problem is to stop measuring and finally just cut it and move on!

I can certainly give you some pointers Alan........kinda like how you can school me on bunny-hops; ledges; and nose wheelies!
